In 2016 Lawhorn CPA acquired an accounting firm in Jefferson City, TN. While Jefferson City is only a short drive from Lawhorn’s main office in Knoxville, the acquisition introduced them to a new client base and grew their reputation as a top accounting firm in East Tennessee.
The COVID-19 pandemic came only a few years after the acquisition and the new Jefferson City firm took the transition to working virtually in stride. In 2009 Jason Lawhorn met Jim Green, CPA, at the AICPA Tech+ Conference. Green operated a CPA firm in Jackson, Wyoming, and shared the same vision as Jason for a national firm for small businesses with focuses on automation, strategy, and education.
